According to Oxford Dictionary, Ergonomics is the study of people’s efficiency in their working environment.

As mentioned in a previous post, we kept this concept clear in mind when we designed StoneGate Authentication Server.

This post is deepening the ability of StoneGate Authentication Server to integrate transparently with existing user bases with a technique called dynamic user linking.

The idea is to be able to pull information about user profiles from a wide range of directory servers and use dynamically these information to populate user accounts in StoneGate Authentication Server.

I’m pleased to announce that StoneGate SSL VPN MobileID free client software for strong authentication is now available for the latest greatest generation of Nokia products like the N8! Yes, the exact one used in Disney movie Tron ;)

The software is available at no charge (as for all other supported platforms) in the download section on Stonesoft Web Site, with links to external stores/marketplaces when applicable.

…and yes, you can use it even if you are not Tron… and even if you use another Symbian S3 smartphone like Nokia C7 and others :)

sslvpn-shine I was talking with a potential customer in the past days about the plusses (differentiators) of StoneGate SSL VPN technology versus other competitors.

Soon I realized that, beside the common wish of having a good clientless mobile to site encrypted communication channel, there is high interest in two “shining” features of StoneGate SSL VPN: the Application Portal logic and, above all, the various authentication methods (over 15) included and supported.

And about authentication, we had a nice discussion about how the beauty of hardware based OTP tokens turns rapidly into a nightmare for system administrators, because such devices are maybe the “most forgotten on the shelf at home ” ;)
