SMC demo mode

Probably the easiest way to evaluate StoneGate Management Center is to use SMC demo mode installation. Instructions and more information about that can be found from this post.

SVDK

If you prefer to evaluate StoneGate with the help of virtual environments, we will recommend of using the StoneGate Virtual Demo Kit (SVDK). SVDK is a set of ready made Virtual Machines to allow quick and simple implementation of a playground based on StoneGate on VMware virtualization platforms.

The schema of SVDK standard installation is reported below:

Virtual Machines are available for SMC, IPS and Firewall/VPN and full documentation is included for installing on VMware ESX/ESXi 4, VMware Free Server 2.0.1 and VMware Workstation 6.x.

SVDK version 2.6 includes:

  • StoneGate Management Center 5.0.4.8067
  • StoneGate Firewall/VPN Engine 5.0.4.7060
  • StoneGate IPS Engine 5.0.2.5054
  • StoneGate SSL VPN 1.3.2.1363
  • Licenses valid until May 2010
  • License for Web Portal and Web Portal Users are included

Once you have downloaded the ISO image, burn it and follow the instructions in the manual included.
