Getting started with StoneBlog
This page contains some hints about how to get acquainted with StoneBlog.
Looking the Home Page, you see two main areas for users:
- Posts, containing the information and ideas from field
- Sidebars, allowing:
- quick navigation by month or by category
- subscribing RSS feeds, a Web 2.0 technique that allow you to receive info about the post and/or comments without navigating to the site.
- participating to polls
- using quick links
- other actions that might be implemented in future
First thing you should do is creating a user, by clicking on Login link on the sidebar.
In the appearing window, select Register (You can also click here) and insert your name and mail address; a password will be mailed to you.
Using your username and password, Login in iShare and select My Profile on the top right corner to complete your profile and change (if you wish) the mailed password.
To start posting, select Write from top menu of the Dashboard. This will open up an editor where you can start writing your post title, post content and tags. I encourage you to use tags extensively, since they represent a quick way to search information.
You can also upload images to your post, using the lower part of the screen.
On the right, you can categorize your post by clicking on one or more categories. If you think some categories are missing, please let me know and I’ll add them.
You can save the post for later publishing or make it publicly available by publishing it. You can access to draft and post list by selecting Manage - Posts from top menu.
Once you’re done with your post, click on Publish button to publish the post in the blog.
When a post is published, you can edit only if you are the author (of course) by clicking on post title and select the link Edit.
To Comment other people posts you click on post title or comments link and use the form that appears to leave a comment.
That’s all by now… still unclear? Let me know!
Happy StoneBlogging!
