StoneGate IPsec VPN Client 5.1 contains two important enhancements:
|
|
VPN Client disaster recovery gateway support
There is a new configuration option in VPN Gateway element’s properties dialog that allows you to define backup gateways. If the primary gateway is not available, the VPN clients contact automatically the defined backup gateway. User confirmation is requested for the failover.
Automatic IKE retry
IKE is used to securely exchange encryption keys as part of building a VPN tunnel. In case of connectivity problems, tunnel needs to be re-established and new keys need to be derived. StoneGate VPN Client 5.1 has now a new feature that helps in that process.
The VPN Client tries to solve various connectivity problems automatically by trying to intiate connection using alternative settings. It tries to use different combinations of the following settings:
- TCP tunneling (enable/disable)
- Random local port (enable/disable)
- NAT-T (enable/disable)
