You have probably noticed that there are lots of useful shortcut actions in engines’ right-click menu. You can e.g. view logs from that firewall or access the engine’s current policy by right-clicking the engine and selecting the actions from the menu that opens.

Since SMC 4.3 this right-click menu has also contained actions that open Overview of engine specific statistics. But did you know that you can customize which Overview templates are visible there?

Read for more instructions how do you do this…

• Right-click some engine and select “Monitoring – Firewall Details”
• Customize the Overview according to your monitoring needs. There are hundreds of statistical items to choose from and they each contain several layout options.
• Save the Overview

• Go to Configuration – Monitoring – Overviews folder
• Right-click the Overview element you just create and select “Tools – Save as Template”

Now your customized Overview template is available for all engines. After you have used that shortcut for the first time (via Other…) dialog, you will see the Overview shortcut directly in all engines’ right-click menu.
