Really looking forward to Wednesday afternoon next week. In conjunction with a press event, we’re organizing a “Hack the lab” -session with Finnish journalists. As we’ve mentioned earlier, for press it’s really hard to experience the reality of an online hacker. Sure the tools and knowledge is out there for grabs, but without a closed safe environment, it’s difficult to try any of it without potential damage to innocent bystanders. With “Hack the lab” we hope that we can illustrate the immediate risks that an unprotected system possesses, without risking anyone’s online safety.
In Stonesoft’s “Hack the lab”, people get to be a real Hacker and experience what it feels like to hack in to a system. We will provide all most of our knowledge and tools, plus a closed network to tinker with. And yes, “Hack the lab” is also the perfect place to demonstrate the supremacy of a StoneGate protected system.
It will be really interesting to see how business and IT journalists handle the situation. How far will they get in to? What if we’ve accidentally invited some secret, yet unknown super hacker to our lair…!?
Of course, really nice to meet new people, looking forward to a fun afternoon and evening! Stay tuned for aftermath with possibly pictures and video too.
