Thanks to the Geolocation database StoneGate Management Center 5.0 can also show lots of top rate statistics as a map diagram. Now you can easily see where your attackers and targets are located!

Top rate map statistics

The map diagram is available in reports, log statistics as well as live Overview statistics. The maps provide you really visual and concrete information about what is happening in your network. You can also provide the map statistics as a report to your management people to convince them that your company really needs a new IPS engine to protect the environment against the obvious attacks coming from suspicious locations.

The size of the “dot” in the map indicates the relational amount of traffic. Map is thus a new generic way of visualizing top rate statistics by location. When viewing the map statistics, note that you see more information about the city, country and the percentages from the tooltip when hoovering with the mouse on top of the “dots”.

Show Geolocations in Google Maps

And if the map isn’t accurate enough for you, just right-click the “dot” on the map and view the location in the Google Maps. Note also that you can easily drill-in to the actual records that are coming from the selected Geolocation.

Note also that SMC 5.0 introduces a new Geolocation element that allows you to configure the geolocations for you private elements networks and address ranges too. With the Geolocation elements you can also override the locations that are resolved from the database.
